Montessori Preschool Floater (Full Time)

Full-Time in Hawthorne, CA - Entry Level - Discovery - $20.00 - $22.00 / hr

The Opportunity. We are conducting a search for a full-time classroom floater to support our infant (ages 3 months - 18 months), toddler (ages 18 months - 3 years) and preschool (3 years - 6 years) communities. The shift hours for this position vary and may include opening shifts, closing shifts, and mid-day shifts. Working under the direction of the Head of School, you will help children fulfill their developmental potential in an authentically prepared, inspiring Montessori environment. Montessori experience is not required, but we welcome educators who have an appreciation for -- and are open to learning more about -- the method.

Minimum Requirements. Please apply if you meet the minimum requirements and are interested in joining our team.

  • Completion of at least 12 college-level early childhood education credits, including at least three credits in infant/toddler care and development
  • Enjoy working with young children
  • Are warm, joyful, and professional;
  • Have valid CPR and first aid certification, or willingness to become CPR and first aid-certified before you begin employment;
  • Have negative TB test results within the last 12 months or willingness to take a TB test which show negative results before your first day of employment; and
  • Are a US citizen or green card holder.

We are especially interested in candidates who:

  • Have experience working in high-quality preschools, particularly authentic Montessori preschools
  • Experience creating art, music, and movement activities for young children
  • Speak multiple languages
