Assistant Montessori Head of School

Discovery, a vibrant Montessori community for children aged 10 weeks to 6 years, is seeking an Assistant Head of School.

The Opportunity

We are conducting a search for Assistant Head of School. Through your efforts, you will help lead Discovery to figure prominently among the world’s finest Montessori communities.

The Assistant Head of School works closely with the Admin Team to ensure Discovery provides a high-quality learning experience for children; exceptional service to parents; and a supportive, collaborative work environment for staff. The ideal candidate enjoys building community; developing and building warm, authentic relationships with families and staff; has a knack for details; and values high quality work.

You will be exposed to all areas of school administration and institutional effectiveness and serve as the school’s operations leader to ensure that everything runs smoothly. In addition, you will partner with the Head of School on important, school-wide initiatives including events and ad hoc initiatives.

• Have 5+ years of Montessori classroom experience
• Earned a bachelor’s degree in any subject;
• Have strong organizational, project management, customer service, and communication skills; and
• Are a US citizen or green cardholder

• Live in Southern California;
• Have earned a MACTE-recognized Montessori diploma at any level
• Have outstanding academic credentials such as an M.Ed., a degree from a prestigious college or university, and/or graduation with honors at any level; and/or
• Have interesting hobbies, skills, and life experiences.
